Psalms Pentecost Sunday Extended Vigil

Responsorial Psalm After the First Reading

Psalms 33:10-11, 12-13, 14-15

R. (12) Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.

10 The LORD brings to nought the plans of nations; he foils the designs of peoples. 11 But the plan of the LORD stands forever; the design of his heart, through all generations. R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.

12 Blessed the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen for his own inheritance. 13 From heaven the LORD looks down; he sees all mankind. R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.

14 From his fixed throne he beholds all who dwell on the earth, 15 He who fashioned the heart of each, he who knows all their works. R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.

Responsorial Psalm After the Second Reading
– Daniel 3:52, 53, 54, 55, 56

R. (52b) Glory and praise forever!

52 “Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of our fathers, praiseworthy and exalted above all forever; and blessed is your holy and glorious name, praiseworthy and exalted above all for all ages.” R. Glory and praise forever!

53 “Blessed are you in the temple of your holy glory, praiseworthy and glorious above all forever.” R. Glory and praise forever!

54 “Blessed are you on the throne of your kingdom, praiseworthy and exalted above all forever.” R. Glory and praise forever!

55 “Blessed are you who look into the depths from your throne upon the cherubim, praiseworthy and exalted above all forever.” R. Glory and praise forever!

56 “Blessed are you in the firmament of heaven, praiseworthy and glorious forever.” R. Glory and praise forever!

OR: Psalms – 19:8, 9, 10, 11

R. (John 6:68c) Lord, you have the words of everlasting life.

8 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul; The decree of the LORD is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple. R. Lord, you have the words of everlasting life.

9 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The command of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eye. R. Lord, you have the words of everlasting life.

10 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; The ordinances of the LORD are true, all of them just. R. Lord, you have the words of everlasting life.

11 They are more precious than gold, than a heap of purest gold; Sweeter also than syrup or honey from the comb. R. Lord, you have the words of everlasting life.

Responsorial Psalm After the Third Reading
– Psalms 107:2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9

R. (1) Give thanks to the Lord; his love is everlasting.or:R. Alleluia.

2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say, those whom he has redeemed from the hand of the foe 3 And gathered from the lands, from the east and the west, from the north and the south. R. Give thanks to the Lord; his love is everlasting.or:R. Alleluia.

4 They went astray in the desert wilderness; the way to an inhabited city they did not find. 5 Hungry and thirsty, their life was wasting away within them. R. Give thanks to the Lord; his love is everlasting.or:R. Alleluia.

6 They cried to the LORD in their distress; from their straits he rescued them. 7 And he led them by a direct way to reach an inhabited city. R. Give thanks to the Lord; his love is everlasting.or:R. Alleluia.

8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his mercy and his wondrous deeds to the children of men, 9 Because he satisfied the longing soul and filled the hungry soul with good things. R. Give thanks to the Lord; his love is everlasting.or:R. Alleluia.
